WALTONVILLE — Elyssa Schoenbaechler tossed a two-hit shutout and struck out 11 to help Waltonville/Sesser-Valier beat rival Woodlawn 4-0.
Annie Wangler homered and scored twice, Addi Denault had two hits and an RBI, and AJ Long added an RBI single to help the Lady Spartans’ win for the eighth time in their last nine games.
WSV improves to 11-5, 2-0 in the conference. It’s the first conference loss for Woodlawn as the Lady Cardinals fall to 6-9, 5-1 in the MTC.
