Flora CUSD #35 announced on Tuesday that they are moving their Week 2 varsity football game against Carmi-White County to Thursday night due to an issue with the contracted officiating crew.
“We confirmed the contract with the officiating crew that was scheduled to officiate this Friday night’s football game in May. However, we received a call this morning from the head of the crew indicating that they would not be able to fulfill the contract for Friday’s game,” the school district said in a statement made on Facebook.
While the school attempted to find a new crew they were unsuccessful with such short notice. As a result, the Wolves were forced to move their game against the Bulldogs to Thursday night, starting at 6:30pm.
Flora pulled of a shocking 28-14 upset at Sesser-Valier in Week 1 while Carmi-White County suffered a crushing 46-8 loss at Johnston City.
