HERRIN — Jacob Shuler and Logan Tanner connected for a pair of first half touchdown passes, and Kegan Shields as well as Leo Hughes each added a pair of touchdown runs to lead Murphysboro to a 40-8 win at Herrin.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Red Devils erupted for 20 points in the second quarter and extended that lead to 33-0 after three.
Murphysboro improves to 3-2, 2-0 in the SIRR Ohio, while Herrin falls to 0-5, 0-2 in the conference.
Next week the Red Devils will Lift for Life out of St. Louis for a non-conference battle. The Tigers will be on the road at Massac County for another conference game.
