Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Prime Time Performer nominees

Voting is open and will run through midnight Sunday for our next Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois in Mt. Vernon Prime Time Performer.

Here are the nominees for September 22-27:

Wilke Armstrong, Massac Co.: The senior earned medalist honors at the SIRR Ohio girls conference tournament carding a 79.

Xander Ashby, Mt. Vernon: The senior earned medalist honors at the South Seven boys conference tournament carding a 76. 

Johnathan Brown, Du Quoin : The senior accounted for 280 yards (139 passing/141 rushing), 4 touchdowns, and 2 extra points in the Indians 46-27 win over Pinckneyville 

Parker Diehl, Murphysboro: The senior earned medalist honors at the SIRR Ohio boys conference tournament carding a 76.  

Jace Erwin, Sesser-Valier/Waltonville: The senior rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown in the Red Devils’ 40-6 win over CZRE.  

Archie Goewey, Centralia: The sophomore was 12-19 for 250 yards passing and 2 touchdowns in the Orphans’ 35-23 win over Carbondale.  

Essence Haynes, Elverado: The junior tallied 56 kills, 17 blocks, 7 aces, and 23 digs helping the Lady Falcons to a 7-2 record for the week. Haynes was named to the All-Tournament Team after Elverado won the Webber Smackdown.  

Hazel Helmers, Trico: The junior was named MVP of the Trico Invitational after tallying 30 kills, 14 blocks, 9 aces and 8 digs to help the Pioneers go 5-0 and win the tournament championship.  

Natalie Lawler, Marion: The junior earned medalist honors at the South Seven girls conference tournament carding at 73.  

Aidan McFadden Anna-Jonesboro: The senior earned medalist honors at the SIRR Mississippi boys conference tournament carding a 70.  

Brynn Stiegman, Nashville: The senior earned medalist honors for the 4th straight year at the SIRR Mississippi girls conference tournament carding a 77. Stiegman also finished 3rd at the loaded Gary Bair Invitational at Edwardsville.   

Cole Stiegman, Nashville: The sophomore was 20-25 for 231 yards with 5 touchdowns passing and added 14 yards rushing in the Hornets’ 41-6 win over West Frankfort.  

Bronson Tippett, Eldorado: The sophomore earned medalist honors at the Black Diamond Conference boys tournament carding a 72. It’s the first conference medalist in school history.

Josie Welch, Johnston City: The senior won the Black Diamond Conference girls tournament carding a 79.
