JOHNSTON CITY — The Johnston City Indians scored the final 30 points to pull away from Fairfield for a 46-22 win to improve to 6-0 and clinch playoff spot.
The Indians struck quickly with a pair of first quarter touchdowns to jump out to a 16-0 lead. The Mules answered with three consecutive scores on two touchdowns from Michael Barner and a third from Logan Tullis to grab a 22-16 second quarter lead.
The Indians regained the lead before half and dominated the second half for the 24-point win.
Trey Johnson and Jace Weaver combined for six touchdowns to lead Johnston City attack. Johnson rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns to go with a 61-yards TD catch, while Weaver rushed for 110 yards and scored three times.
The unbeaten Indians will be back home again next week to welcome Hamilton County. Fairfield (4-2) will pay a visit to Flora.
