CARTERVILLE — On Senior Night at Carterville, junior running back Johnny Miller who scored three touchdowns, surpassing 1000 yards for the season in the process, to help the Lions improve to 7-0 with a 50-7 win over Massac County.
Miller reached the milestone on his 92-yard touchdown run in the first quarter that put the Lions up 14-0.
Carterville led 21-0 after one quarter and extended that lead to 42-0 at the half, triggering the running clock for the second half.
Up next, the Lions will travel to fellow conference unbeaten Murphysboro for the SIRR Ohio championship.
Massac County fell to 3-4 and finishes 1-3 in conference play. The Patriots will travel to Missouri next week to visit Saxony Lutheran.
