The biggest move in this week’s John A. Logan College Little Egypt Football Poll saw the Centralia Orphans tumble after a 40-8 loss to Cahokia. The Orphans had just cracked the Top 3 last week but the loss sends the back down to #6.
Benton and Carterville both remain undefeated and still at the top of the heap at #1 and #2 respectively.
The Du Quoin Indians eked out a 2-spot jump back to #3 with a 40-13 win at Anna-Jonesboro.
The Johnston City Indians remain at #4, just a single point behind Du Quoin, despite remaining unbeaten after a 44-6 victory over Hamilton County.
Nashville also rose in the standings to #5 after a dominant 55-7 victory over Pinckneyville.
7 thru 10 did not change but several area teams are impressing to account for seven schools in the “also receiving votes” section that could threaten for a spot in the Top 10 next week.
