MARION — Marion’s Callahan Roper made it a Senior Night to remember, breaking his his own school record with 435 yards passing and six touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to a 49-21 win over Mattoon.
Roper also moved within three yards of his assistant coach Matt Brown’s career passing yardage record. Brown threw for 6001 yards. Roper currently stands at 5998.
Senior receiver Junious Thomas hauled in nine passes for 132 yards and a touchdown. Thomas’ season total has now surpassed 1000 yards, currently standing at 1022.
The Wildcats will find out Saturday night whom they will face in the first round of the playoffs.
