The Murphysboro Red Devils released their 2025-26 schedule on Friday. One game in January popped out as an interesting matchup. The Red Devils play St. Pius X out of Festus, MO on January 6 at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN.
The FedEx Forum is home to the NBA team Memphis Grizzlies.
The game makes for an interesting neutral court matchup following Holiday Tournament time. It will be the second season Murphysboro plays St. Pius X; last year the Red Devils routed the Lancers 79-44.
The FedEx Forum is no stranger to southern Illinois high schools playing a basketball game on their hardwood. In 2022, both Cobden and Meridian boys and girls basketball teams played games at the home of the Grizzlies.
