Nashville cruises to third straight Thanksgiving Tournament title

NASHVILLE — The Nashville Hornettes completed a dominating four-game run by beating Freeburg 55-27 to claim their third straight Nashville Thanksgiving Tournament title.

After blowing out their first three opponents by a combined 144 points, the Hornettes led the Lady Midgets ‘only’ 25-15 at the half, a lead that was 35-21 midway through the third quarter. Nashville used a 16-1 run to close the third and open the fourth to put it away. The Hornettes outscored their four tournament opponents 261-89 on their way to title.

Emma Behrmann led the Hornettes’ attack with 18 points. Summer Brinkmann added 13 and her sister Samantha 12. Those three plus Claire Stiegman were all named to the All-Tournament Team.
