CAMPBELL HILL — The Carterville Lions came out like a buzzsaw, jumping out to a 26-3 lead after one quarter and then cruising to a 65-34 win over Red Bud to remain unbeaten at the Pioneer Tip-Off Classic.
Harper Lustenberger led the Carterville attack with 14 points.
With the win, the Lions move to 3-0 in the tournament. They will try to complete the sweep when they close out the tournament Saturday at 7:30 against the host Pioneers. Steeleville will take on Waterloo Gibault in the first game Saturday at 6:00. Both teams are 2-1 in the tourney.
