MURPHYSBORO — Cash Brooks scored 12 of his game high 23 points in the third quarter helping Murphysboro break open a tight game on the way to a 61-49 win over Massac County in the SIRR Ohio opener for both teams.
The Red Devils led 22-20 at the half before outscoring the Patriots 21-11 in the third quarter led by Brooks outburst.
With the win, Murphysboro improves to 3-1 (1-0). The loss is Massac County’s first as the Patriots fall to 4-1 (0-1).
Both teams are back in action Saturday. Murphysboro will face Craigmont (TN) at 1:00 in the Illinois Get Down shootout at Carbondale. Massac County will visit Marion Saturday night.
