CHRISTOPHER — The Christopher Bearcats rallied from a nine-point first half deficit to beat Sesser-Valier 59-49.
Senior Landon Sveda knocked down five 3-pointers and also went 8-8 from the free throw to finish with a game high 27 points for the Bearcats. Fellow senior Trevin Skropka added 15 Christopher who improves to 5-3 on the season, 1-0 in the West Division of the Black Diamond Conference.
The Red Devils, who fall to 4-4, 2-1 in the BDC West, were led in scoring by Tony Kistner who tallied 22.

Both teams will be off until after Christmas. The Red Devils will open Friday against Du Quoin at the S-V Holiday Tournament. The Bearcats will get the host Panthers Saturday at Pinckneyville’s Duster Thomas Hoops Classic.
