SIU quarterback D.J. Williams announced on Saturday that he has received a waiver approval that grants him one additional season of college football.

This past season, the dual threat quarterback completed 222 passes on 352 attempts for 2,846 yards and 22 touchdowns. He tossed five interceptions. On the ground, Williams rushed for 847 yards on 145 attempts and 18 touchdowns.
Should Williams stay at SIU, he’ll be the de facto starting quarterback for a Saluki team that is attempting to return to the postseason for the first time since 2023.
The transfer portal opens Friday, January 2 and will remain open for 15 days until January 16.
