CARTERVILLE — Fresh off their Eldorado Holiday Tournament championship, the Carterville Lions avoided a letdown by cranking up the defense and routing Harrisburg 73-44.
The Lions forced 26 Bulldog turnovers on the night, with 19 coming in the first half as they were building a 37-13 lead.
Zach Snow led Carterville (13-1, 2-0) with 20 points. Colton Hawkins and Maddox Gulley added 11 each.
Up next, the Lions will visit Du Quoin Saturday night. Harrisburg (4-8, 0-2) is off until Friday when the Bulldogs will return home to meet Murphysboro.
