SIU Football announced Monday morning that D.J. Williams is returning to the team for a final season of collegiate football.
Williams received a waiver approval for one additional season on December 27, 2025.
This past season, the dual threat quarterback completed 222 passes on 352 attempts for 2,846 yards and 22 touchdowns. He tossed five interceptions. On the ground, Williams rushed for 847 yards (a single-season record at SIU) on 145 attempts and 18 touchdowns.
Throughout his SIU career, he has completed 268 passes of 430 attempts for 3,417 yards and 26 touchdowns. He has thrown 7 interceptions. Williams has picked up a career total of 1,089 rushing yards on 145 carries and 22 rushing touchdowns at SIU.
