The Marion Wildcats had a rough week at the Taylorville Holiday Tournament, going 1-3. Those results moved the Wildcats from the #2 ranking to the #6 ranking in the latest John A. Logan College SI Basketball Poll.
The Centralia Orphans suffered their first loss of the season to Marist in the Centralia Holiday Tournament championship game and held on to their unanimous #1 ranking.
Mt. Vernon, Woodlawn, Carterville, and even Nashville took advantage of Marion’s tumble and moved past the Wildcats.
Waltonville and Sparta are tied for #8 this week. Both 1A teams have impressed fans the entire season and figure to remain in the top 10 for the foreseeable future.
