MURPHYSBORO — The Carterville Lions used a huge fourth quarter to erase a double digit deficit to win an SIRR Ohio first place showdown at Murphysboro 60-56.
The Lions trailed 46-35 after three quarters before outscoring the Red Devils 25-10 in the fourth quarter for the win.
Carterville, Murphysboro, and Herrin all entered the night tied for the conference lead at 2-1. The Lions and Tigers both won, so there remains a tie atop the Ohio.

Carterville improves to 18-2 (3-1). The Lions will open play in the Benton Invitational Tournament Tuesday night at 6:00 against Meridian.
Murphysboro falls to 12-6 (2-2). The Red Devils will open play in the Sparta Midwinter Classic Tuesday night at 5:30 against Marissa/Coulterville.
