With the season in its dog days and Midwinter Tournaments going on this week, there was not much movement in this week’s John A. Logan College SI Basketball Poll.
Centralia remains the top team in Southern Illinois, still garnering all first place votes. They claimed their 20th win of the season Wednesday night over Champaign Central.
The Nashville Hornets are threatening for the #2 spot, they are just one point behind the Mt. Vernon Rams for that #2 ranking.
Marion’s tumble through the rankings continues. Previously as high as #2 in the rankings, the Wildcats have fallen to the #8 spot this week, tied with the Sparta Bulldogs.
Many area fans are hoping to see a battle between #6 Woodlawn and #7 Waltonville Saturday night; the Spartans have punched their ticket to that game already, Woodlawn plays Webber Thursday night for the other championship game spot.
