CHESTER — The Carterville Lions overcame a cold night shooting to win at Chester 52-41. The Lions shot less than 40 percent (20-53) from the field for the game, including just 4-23 from three-point range.
Maddux Gulley led a balanced attack for the Lions with 13 points. Zach Snow added 12 and Colton Hawkins 11.
Tashawn Palacio led Chester with 14 points.
Carterville improves to 24-3 on the season. The Lions final three regular season games will all be SIRR Ohio conference games, starting Tuesday night at Harrisburg. Carterville currently sits in first place, a half game up on Murphysboro and a game and a half up on Herrin and Massac County.
Chester falls to 8-16. The Yellow Jackets are also back in action Tuesday night when they will host Waterloo Gibault.
