The Centralia Orphans never relinquished the #1 ranking in this season’s SI Basketball Poll. There were times they were not voted the unanimous #1 but they were always atop the poll and that is where they finish in this season’s John A. Logan SI Basketball Poll.
The Waltonville Spartans continued their steady climb up the rankings to finish #3 this season, just a few points ahead of #4 Carterville.
The Mt. Vernon Rams took the biggest tumble in this year’s final poll, falling two spots to #5. That was due to a 44-42 loss at Marion in their final game of the regular season.
Speaking of Marion, the Wildcats moved up a spot in the poll thanks to that victory up to #9.
