Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Prime Time Performer nominees

Voting is open and will run through midnight Sunday for the next Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois in Mt. Vernon Prime Time Performer.

Here are the nominees for May 12-17:

Emma Behrmann, Nashville: The junior won the 100 meter hurdles (15.84), the 300 meter hurdles (45.97), long jump (17’1”) and triple jump (35’6”) at the Webber 1A Girls Track and Field Sectional. 

Drake Buffington, Goreville: The senior pitched an 8-inning complete game allowing 1 earned run while striking out 8 in a 3-2 win over Du Quoin. At the plate, Buffington was 2-2 with a home run, and he drove in all 3 runs.

Joel Carrington/Micah Walker, Murphysboro: The duo won the Kinkaid Lake Bass Fishing Regional with a total weight of 12.86 pounds.

Rylan Frazier/Drew Sadler, Anna-Jonesboro:  The duo won the Crab Orchard Lake Bass Fishing Regional with a total weight of 16.69 pounds.

Branson Hill, Herrin:  The senior was on base 10 times in 11 at bats going 6-7 with 4 walks, 3 doubles, and a home run. Hill tallied 7 RBIs and 4 runs scored in 3 games.

Tyjaire Kellum, Murphysboro:  The senior won the 100 meters (10.83), broked the SIRR Ohio record to win the 200 meters (21.74), and was also part of a pair of winning relays the 4×100 and the 4×200 at the conference meets.

Braxton Martin, Hardin Co.: The sophomore threw a 6-inning no-hitter in a 12-0 win over Pope County. Martin didn’t allow a walk either while striking out 10.

Gabe McLain, Benton:  The senior won the 800 meters (2:01.15), the 1600 meters (4:37.24), the 3200 meters (9:42.19) and ran the third leg on the winning 4×400 relay at the SIRR Mississippi meet.

Colebie Miller, Hamilton Co.: The freshman was 2-0 allowing 2 earned runs in 19 innings while striking out 17. At the plate, Miller was 6-13 with a double, 2 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. 

Mya Russell/Colten Starnes, Salem: The duo won the Forbes Lake Bass Fishing Regional with a total of 9.13 pounds.  

Ryley Stewart/Chase Kujawa, Waltonville: The duo won the Rend Lake Bass Fishing Regional with a total of 13.5 pounds.  

Kali Wallace, Marion: The sophomore scored 6 goals and added an assist in the Lady Wildcats’ 8-2 win over Carbondale.
