HARRISBURG — The Murphysboro Red Devils shook off a sluggish first half and pulled away for a 40-21 win at Harrisburg.
Freshman Kegan Shields scored four rushing touchdowns, and Zakhi Huff added two more for the Red Devils, who improve to 4-3, 3-0 in the SIRR Ohio. The win sets up a conference championship matchup next Friday night as the Red Devils will host fellow conference unbeaten and season unbeaten Carterville.
Harrisburg falls to 2-5, 1-2 in the Ohio. The Bulldogs will close out conference play Friday night at Herrin.
