PINCKNEYVILLE — The Nashville Hornettes prevented Pinckneyville from celebrating an outright SIRR Mississippi volleyball championship at home, knocking off the Lady Panthers 25-21, 25-23, keeping their own hopes of grabbing a share of the title alive in the process.

Pinckneyville entered the night having clinched a share of the Mississippi championship, leading Nashville and Benton by two games with two to play. Those two games were with the Hornettes and Rangerettes. Nashville’s win leaves the Lady Panthers with a one game lead with one to play.

Pinckneyville can still win the title outright with a win at Benton Thursday night. Should the Rangerettes win and Nashville win at Du Quoin, there will be a three-way share of the conference championship.
