Here are your early season basketball nominees:
Emma Behrmann, Nashville: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Hornettes to the championship of the Nashville Invitational. Behrmann scored 18 points in the championship game win over Freeburg.
Kendall Cleland, Pinckneyville: The junior was named Tournament MVP after helping lead the Lady Panthers to the championship of the Du Quoin Lady Indian Tip-Off Tournament. Cleland scored 17 in the championship game win over Salem.
Kinley Glover, Benton: The junior was named Tournament MVP after helping lead the Rangerettes to the championship of the Sparta Tournament and to the All-Tournament Team after helping the Rangerettes finish second at the Herrin Lady Tiger Invitational.
Jamisen Green, Harrisburg: The senior was named to the All-Tournament team after helping the Lady Bulldogs finish second at the Harrisburg Preview Tournament. Green also scored 33 in a win over Carbondale.
Jude Harmon, Massac Co.: The junior was named Tournament MVP after helping lead the Patriots to the championship of the Vienna Classic. Harmon scored 29 in a win over Eldorado and 24 in the win over Vienna in the championship game.
Noah Kennedy, Crab Orchard: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Trojans to the championship of the Elverado Turkey Tournament.
Kynadei Martin, Meridian: The sophomore was named Tournament MVP after helping the Lady Bobcats finish second at the Lady Bobcat Classic.
Gage Peterson, Waltonville: The senior was named Tournament MVP after helping lead the Spartans to the championship of the Christopher Turkey Tournament. Peterson scored 22 in the semifinal win over New Athens and 19 in the championship win over Webber.
Rayci Phelps, Hamilton Co.: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Teams after helping lead the Lady Foxes to the championship of their own Invitational. Phelps scored 68 points over 4 games to be the tournament’s high scorer.
Caroline Simmons, Carmi-White Co.: The senior was named to the All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Lady Bulldogs to the championship of the Harrisburg Preview Tournament. Simmons scored 21 in the win over Anna-Jonesboro in the championship game.
Adam Taake, Century: The senior was named Tournament MVP after helping lead the Centurions to the championship of the Gene Dammerman Cobden Classic.
Jenna Waters, Vienna: The senior was named Tournament MVP after helping lead the Lady Eagles to the championship of the Herrin Lady Tiger Invitational. Waters averaged 23 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals in the 3 tournament games including 33 points in a win over Cairo and 22 points/14 rebounds in the win over Benton in the championship game.
