METROPOLIS — Behind a monster night from Jude Harmon, the Massac County Patriots knocked off SIRR Ohio leading Carterville 75-69, snapping the Lions’ nine game winning streak in the process.
Harmon poured in 34 points, and Dee Carruthers added 16 for the Patriots, who led 22-13 after one quarter, 41-34 at the half, and 60-51 after three quarters.
Carterville was led by Colton Hawkins and Maddox Gulley with each scoring 18.
The Patriots improve to 7-6, 2-2 in the conference. They will host Hardin County Saturday. The Lions meanwhile fall to 15-2, 2-1 and tied for the conference lead with Herrin and Murphysboro. Carterville will visit Pinckneyville in a non-conference game Saturday night.
