Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois Prime Time Performer nominees

Voting is open and will run through midnight Monday for our next Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois in Mt. Vernon Prime Time Performer.

Here are your nominees for April 13-18:

Lilli Armes, Johnston City: The senior went 5-7 with 2 walks, 2 doubles, a home run and 5 RBIs helping the Lady Indians go 2-0 for the week.

Bryden Banks, Hardin Co.: The junior threw a 6-inning, no-hitter, striking out 5 in a shutout win over Eldorado. Banks then went 2-4 with 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 3 runs in a win over Union County (KY). 

Grace Bishop, Edwards Co.: The senior was 4-7, with 2 walks, a double, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs, and 4 runs scored helping the Lady Lions go 2-0 for the week. Bishop had a double, homered twice and drove in 6 in a win over Carmi-White County.

Alana Bryant, Marion: The senior went 6-8 with a double, 2 home runs, and 9 RBIs helping the Lady Wildcats go 2-0 for the week. Bryant also picked up the the complete game win in the circle against Goreville giving up 2 runs.

Kehlin Crawford, Flora: The junior won the 100M (10.9), 200M (22.8), and the high jump (6’7.5”) at the Matt Scherer Invitational at Red Hill. Crawford also finished third in the triple jump (39’8.5”)

Izzy Doerr, Murphysboro: The senior scored 7 goals and added 2 assists helping the Red Devils go 3-0 for the week. Doerr scored 4 goals with an assist in a win over Harrisburg. 

Taryn Ford, Carterville: The senior went 4-9 with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs with 4 runs scored helping the Lady Lions go 3-0 for the week. Ford also picked up the complete game win in the circle over Murphysboro allowing 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 10. 

Joseph Frierdich, Carbondale: The sophomore won the discus (175’3”) at Mascoutah’s Military Classic and finished third in the shot put (55’3.75”).

Makayla Gajewski, Nashville: The junior broke her own school record and set a new record at O’Fallon’s Lady Panther Invitational in the shot put, winning with a throw of 44’.

Corinne Mueller, Steeleville: The sophomore went 3-0 in the circle, allowing 3 earned runs in 24 innings while striking out 29. Mueller threw a 10-inning, 3-hit shutout while striking out 12 against Dupo. Mueller was also 5-13 at the plate with a walk and an RBI. 

Jayci Needling, Anna-Jonesboro: The senior was 7-14 with 2 doubles, 3 home runs, and 7 RBIs with 6 runs scored to help the Lady Wildcats go 4-0 for the week.

Chace Patterson, West Frankfort: The senior tossed a 2-hit complete game shut out striking out 10 in a win over Benton.

Dax Randolph, Harrisburg: The sophomore went 5-9 with 2 walks, a home run, 4 RBIs, 4 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases to help the Bulldogs go 3-0 for the week.

Joe Youngblood, Herrin: The senior won the 100M (11.35), the 200M (22.63), and anchored the winning 4x100M relay at Herrin’s Bud Wieland Invitational. Youngblood also ran the 3rd leg of the 4x200M relay team that finished 3rd.
